Jane Ann Kern Memorial Site - Donate

Jane had three charities that she believed in and supported. Please consider donating to these charities in Jane's memory.

Jane's daughter Susan has a daughter Caroline, who contracted juvenile diabetes at the age of two. At the tenth anniversary of Jane's death, Caroline, now 18, is a bright, active, athletic, young woman in the top five percent of her graduating high school class. She is using an insulin pump now and lives in New York State.

Jane's son, David, who became a juvenile diabetic at the age of 10, has a family of his own in central New Jersey. He also uses an insulin pump. David and his children continue to be active in dramatic arts.

Jane's son, Steven, has a family of his own in northern New Jersey. He continues to manage his Crohn's as he works in the construction management field in the New York/New Jersey area.

  • Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF)
  • Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA)
  • Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County (HfHMonC)

Jane supported JDRF by creating a JDRF donation site that supported an annual September walk near Saratoga Springs, NY. Part of this walk was Team Caroline, named for Jane's granddaughter, Caroline. Jane was to have made this walk on September 14, 2008 but her fatal automobile accident on August 31, 2008 prevented her participation. Her family walked in her honor.

Jane supported CCFA by creating a CCFA donation site that supported an annual May walk in Morris County, NJ.

Jane rode her trike on the Habitat for Humanity's Motorcycle Ride For Affordable Housing. I rode for Jane in the 2008 event. You can help Jane to continue to support Habitat for Humanity by making a donation in her name.

You can also read an article I wrote about the Western Monmouth Habitat for Humanity Motorcycle Ride which I rode on Jane's trike and helped to raise money to build a house for a disabled military veteran.
